Passive aggressive inappropriate tone from Deej and other Bungie employees
Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.

Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: [i][u]Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December.[/u][/i] They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."

Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.

You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

I've enjoyed Destiny since the Beta, seen nerfs and boosts, changes additions and plain old screw ups. But never, ever was I as insulted as I became when I read this post. It was belittling the players for a valid concern, openly mocking the shortage of materials to be had by pointing out the 1600 plus those on high have; and to top it off, a middle finger to all of us by saying they'll change what they like, when they like it. I am an older gamer; and my career was in public relations for some higher profile clients. And I can honestly say, this is not a tactic I, nor anyone in my profession, would take. It is nothing short of insulting to the Destiny client base, and presented as almost a dare for players to leave the game.

How are people offended by this? The first part was a joke. When he said we have the right to Tinker with the economy. He was saying reducing weapon parts was tinkering with it. When he says we have the right to change our minds again. He's saying they've changed their mind after reading your input. How can you be upset at this? Get over yourselves.

8 回覆As Americans they are entitled to say pretty much whatever they want in this country. That being said, they're apparent disregard for their customers is growing in intensity and only further proves to me that the majority of the original Bungie team stayed behind with 343i. I will not continue to support this company after TTK unless they fix their attitude. Halo 5 and Star Wars Battlefront have won my business for the time being. While Halo 5 could be argued to be pay to win for warzone, there is still a plethora of classical playlists where money won't buy you wins and the company itself is extremely responsive and seemingly empathetic towards their fans (like the Bungie of old). Like I said before, they are entitled to freedom of speech and the freedom to do what they want with their game. But actions have consequences, and this new attitude is going to drive anyone with self respect away.

Yes, they know there is a weapons part shortage (because they listen to the forums), yes, they've finally corrected that oversight that should have been fixed soon after TTK launch but how did Deej's joke about weapon parts cause such upset? I've been struggling for weapon parts but still found it pretty funny. I don't think you get Bungie's sense of humour and are probably new here.

They have the exact same attitude towards people who want matchmaking, they make out its the players fault, they should be tailoring the game to the player base, as time goes on it makes me think the people at the studio don't have the skill to overcome the problems of implementing such features, this is why we can't play year one maps/strikes with year 2 just so they don't have to find a way of removing the first layers who don't have them, well ACTIVISION did it with modern warfare two so why don't you as them how to fix it!

7 回覆The only thing that bothers me are the F******* LIES about the raid loot system! They said that the system would check your previous drops and will try to give you new ones... Yeah that works so well....I've been raiding King's Fall since day 1 and still haven't seen that Warlock or Titan helmet.

5 回覆Go work in any field that requires you to deal with people. Come back after a year and tell me how many of them you wanted to strangle. Now imagine being the intermediary between a large corporation and a buck of whiny, entitled, ungrateful children. Constantly blamed for every tiny problem, and screamed at by the community for every tiny thing you do or don't do. Honestly, it's amazing the guy hasn't gone postal. A few comments that [i]could[/i] be interpreted as mildly passive aggressive by some over sensitive fool aren't bad at all.

6 回覆I think he was trying to be humorous. He has made a couple of these jokes before, if it hasnt tickled your nipples thn yea, obviously you got a bit offended. But I agree about the poor planning, they rushed to give us the product n forgot about things like poe, etheric light, variks, petra, patrol, wormspores etc. Has anybody gone to the reef before the trials even were available? ik I haven't.

Gotta love hypocrites and addicts for that matter. Guess it's easier to think that those 500+ hours you pissed away for no reason, were done so in fun and ergo, your "Fun" supplier has no flaws as such. Then again, this is the twitch game doritos KJ52 mountain dew XxX420weedblazinitXxX Call of Duty crowd we're talking about.

I agree with most of what you're saying. It's unfortunate because this game in my opinion is the best shooter I've ever played. I enjoy logging on everyday even if it's just to do daily bounties. I would never consider myself a Bungie fanboy, but being a Halo fanboy (I buy anything Halo game wise and have read many of the books) I was truly excited when Destiny was announced. Now a year later, with 1000s of hours of gameplay I find myself wondering what's the point? I used to play 3 characters, now I've all but abandoned my titan. Why? The grind... The grind, coupled with having to so heavily rely on other players for end game content (mostly through 3rd party apps and websites) is slowly but surely killing the fun, at least for me. The last thing we as a player base needs at this time is a snarky Bungie employee talking down to us. There is and will be more gaming competition this holiday season. Now is not the time to push players away.

The community complains about this game all day and about how much they aren't being listened to. Every single weekly update addresses atleast one thing the community whines about. Yet we still have the " They aren't listening to us and they are being mean." You sound like little children. Oh no your poor feels. Grow up and be done with this misguided entitlement bullshit.

2 回覆Look, you're entitled to your opinion, just as much as anybody is. If anything though, I saw those same "snarky" comments as humorous. The comment about them running out of 1600 weapon parts seems to be more humor on their part, or commentary on how easy they used to be to accumulate. It could have been justification for their changes, even. I don't know for sure, and trying to pick apart everything Deej says is not one of my long-term goals in being part of this community (that being said, I still need to break into year 2 T_T). As for the comment about reserving the right to be the curators of their own living world, they do have that right. But the comment was more about them simply saying that they reserve the right to make changes or revert any changes if they feel they aren't working. They did it for the entirety of year 1, so it only stands to reason that they'd be able to do it for year 2 as well. Lastly, an important question: if you think Bungie is pandering to fans that don't think they can do wrong, and don't like the way they're running things, then why are you still here? It's one thing to be dissatisfied with the way the game is going, but obviously there's something still here for you. If the bad outweighed the good and you stayed, then you aren't staying because you like the game. You'd either be staying for someone else's sake, or so that you can find something to argue/complain about. However, if the good outweighed the bad, Then you enjoy the game, despite the feel of its current direction. So you have a choice. Leave while you can, or stay for the ride. Either way, your complaints aren't going to take you far.

I remember the old Bungie who used to brutally rip into people in the weekly update and with every forum reply. I remember one member of staff tore someone to pieces in the forum for thinking he was some kind of business god. It was glorious. Those were the days. Now people spit their dummy and throw their toys out of the pram every time someone disagrees with them over the most minute things. Get your s**t together.
