I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but Destiny is not a juggernaut and is in trouble. With a player base rapidly disappearing with each add on, its hard to take this seriously. Bungie has their core fans who will buy anything with the Bungie name on it, but if this game continues on the path of over market, over hype and under deliver it won't make it passed the sequel. That's not hate, that's simply a reality like it or not. Good post.

Most purchasers of destiny bought the core game and signed up for the 2 dlc's. So, bungivisions coffers were full from the get go. With TTK they're having to convince new players to buy in either on the day or preorder (which is their ideal player) they don't really care about the existing player base as they already have had their money - and I order to convince the existing vanilla players to part with more money Bungie is nerfing their weapons and capping their level at 34 until they buy TTK. BASICALLY: TTK is the watershed moment for Destiny. If it fails then we'll see massive changes in Activisions gameplan for Destiny.

Ok. I hear you on that, but what about overall profits? I'll ask this of you. Let's wait and come back to this post taken king. The reviews will set the stage and the sales numbers will tell us what we need to know. Cause hey, it could go either way.

Well Bungie isn't going to give us sales numbers, they didn't for either dlc, but that could be in part because many were pass holders. Even if they did you can't rely on that; they said over 10 million copies sold, when in actuality it was closer to 9 million according to polygon.

I wouldn't say Destiny is a juggernaut, last year Destiny was beat out in sales by Madden and COD. I do think Destiny can be a juggernaut, especially if TTK delivers. Either way, Bungie has to upgrade the quality of their future DLCs if they are going to charge such a stiff premium for their content. They won't be able to get away with any more Dark Belows.
