[b]Welcome to the Factions Page. In LionHeart, there are three main factions that correlate with the story. [/b] [b][u]The Monarchy:[/u][/b] [spoiler]The Imperial Monarchy is a sovereignty as old as time itself. It spans all across the world and has influences in every culture, nation, and alignment. Their ruler is a mysterious King who was succeeded by three children. Only one remains alive. The daughter, [i]Avelyn Hartwick[/i], has formed an oppressive regime that parallels the rule of her father in a far off valley in salutary neglect. She is the princess of Taeda Vale, mimicking her father's tyrannical rule by enforcing zero tolerance policies and vangarding her right to the throne. Her rule is absolute, but she is not malicious in nature, as she cares for the people and land they possess, but monsters disguised as men lurk within the stone monoliths that protect the valley from what lurks beyond.[/spoiler] [u][b]The Insurrection:[/b][/u] [spoiler]There is no formal name for the isolated revolts and acts of defiance and treason committed by opposers of the Monarchy, but as of late, an inseparable pair have chosen to unify their brothers and sisters of the torchlit valley. [i]Iris Jayes[/i] and [i]Felix Matruo[/i] have rallied the unsettled men and women who live within, stoking the fires of their distrust and frustration, convincing them that the enemy sits upon a fragile throne. They aim high, not to usurp the royalty they believe is unfit for duty, but to replace court with congress and dictator with democracy. Their followers are few, but their desire to see the light of day shine over the gray walls of the valley surpass the odds that weigh their spirits down.[/spoiler] [b][u]The Residence:[/u][/b] [spoiler]Unity is but a guise to the tension and turmoil that boil and seethe under it. This is the belief of The Residence, an enclave who finds the concept of a governing body over resentful citizens counterproductive. The founder of the kingless regime is a man known as [i]Arthur Clarke[/i], and his distrust in both the empty promises of the Monarchy and the liberal movements of the Insurrection has led him to a revelation: The cities will be destroyed by the constant push and pull of power created by the warring parties of rebels and royalty. A perfect world to the Residence is a world where the three lands stand alone, unfazed by governing authority. Both the Monarchy and the Insurrection see this enclave as a group of anarchists who base their zealotry within natural selection, but in the end, is it not the fit who survive?[/spoiler]
