You don't need to play the first two games to enjoy the third. Witcher 3 has a character tab in the menu and it will give you some back story for them. Google Witcher wikia also would help you catch up. What type of games do you like? RPGs? Shooters? I only ask because this game doesn't seem to please everyone. Some love it, but some just don't mix well with it. Personally, I thought it was fantastic.
