I am very happy to read today over at IGN that Peter Dinklage's ghost narration will be entirely replaced by legendary voice actor Nolan North (most known for his voicing of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted franchise, Joel in The Last Of Us and Desmond Miles in the Assassin's Creed franchise).
I think it's a great idea on bungie's part because this guy is an actual video game voice actor and isn't just being cast because of his notoriety from TV/film works. You guys will be able to have an easier time getting him to record follow-up audio for subsequent expansions.
This can gonna go a long way in making us feel like we have a companion throughout our journey and maybe add a little more life to the existing ghost dialogue.
Sound off in the comments, guardians! I wanna know what you think.

Edit: You guys have some great opinions and feedback on this. I appreciate your comments!
Please note though that I am not making a comment about Dinklage's work quality or Destiny's script/story but I am pointing out the positive aspects of having him being replaced for the voice acting.

Yea, should've never gotten rid of Peter. I actually liked his voice acting on this. The robotic synthesizer over some of his voice made some of it too flat though. Wasn't his fault. Would rather be hearing his voice now instead of NN. No offense to Nolan as some of his voice acting wasn't his fault either. It was the sound director at Bungie to my understanding. In my opinion if they were going to change the voice it should've been optional and given you a choice of 3 or 4 voice actors to hear the story told through with the ghost. Didn't even have to be famous as long as they were decent at it. Granted would've been cool to hear someone like Keith David, Jonathan Frakes, or Marina Sirtis did it. Ton of other ideas like having each type of ghost shell having a different voice.

由JoeConk編輯: 9/9/2015 8:34:46 AMLiked the original voice much better. The new voice creeps me out. Too effeminate for a man's voice, no disrespect to the actor just to whoever picked that voice to replace the original.

由LilBlkCloud編輯: 8/4/2015 6:29:18 PMI know laymen and common folk don't know this, but when your story gets gutted, performances suffer. Peter Dinklage is A-list, but it doesn't matter how good you are, if the story sucks ass and the company directing doesn't know what the hell they're doing (as is obvious by Bungie screwing up the story), performances suffer. To see proof of this all you have to do is examine the countless movies that went bad during production, with great actors in them. Direction is important. Writing is important. Story is important. Acting depends on these factors. George Clooney is a great actor. But was he good in Batman & Robin? No, he was absolute shit. Talent only takes you so far. The people behind the scenes can absolutely ruin your performance. Bungie ruined Dinklage's. I just feel awful for Dinklage that this horrible game will remain a stain on his resumé. Whether or not TTK is a better experience won't help him now. It's an embarrassment. This Nolan guy is going in now with an improved script, because it took a year for Bungie to get their head out their arse (if they even did, we don't know until the reviews come in). He automatically has the upper hand over Dinklage's performance because his won't be gimped by a bad story and bad direction. Also, is Bungie going to replace Nathan Fillion and all the other fine actors they hired but didn't make use of? Yes they will, because they can't possibly afford them now. I guarantee they couldn't afford Dinklage either, or he turned them down for their failure. Who the hell hires a dozen well-known, proven actors to voice their project, then puts them in the background? Bungie. Fail.

They should give an option for a female voice. Surprised vanilla Destiny never had that. Oh well. I don't mind Nolan.

My name is David We make a pretty good team Everything happens for a reason - - The Last of Us. Never played Uncharted, so The Last of Us is all I have to compare Nolan to. He'll be a great addition to the series.

I thought they were just re scripting what they already have so they can save a few $$$.

Peter has done voice acting way before Destiny. The ghost was poorly written and directed.
-
Hopefully they retroactively give him some lines for the dark below and house of wolves as well

Peter is making too much money to be bothered doing some destiny crap. They can't pay him enough to come back so they had to get this dude. I never heard of him so I don't really give a shit.
