When does Crucible become fun?
I've gotten a lot less angry with Crucible after I've accepted that there is no victory in it, only defeat, and that I'm not good at it, but it still hasn't become fun for me.
I can see that the meta is Hand Cannons and Shotguns on Hunters and Warlocks, but otherwise it just seems like throwing myself into the game as cannon fodder for others without an ounce of enjoyment.
So, when do other people start having fun in the Crucible? Is it a specific mode? I admit I'm a solo player and don't have groups to play with, so maybe that's it?

1 回覆When you round up 5 other guardians and can communicate with them in a fireteam. Thorn can't stop a coordinated artack.

Pvp was not fun for me and some of clan until trials started. Until I got my messenger, thorn was the go to.. Now that I have the messenger, thorn is out the door! There is something more appealing about trials and elimination due to the required team work that makes it fun for us.

8 回覆The meta isn't hand cannons in general, its Thorn and The Last Word. PvP was fun when people actually used different weapons, when auto rifles were usable.

Took me about 12 hours of game play, started out I was happy if I just got a kill or two, a good game for me now Is if I place 3rd or higher on my team. Watch some vids of other people playing, error is in thinking your still playing the software.....humans can predict and react. This is no raid to work your way threw. Go slow follow others and don't go at someone alone till you learn the map.

I used to think the same thing until my buddy and I tried IB. Its actually alot more fun for me than regular crucible, don't ask me why, but it really is. It might be the goal of getting specific loot, I don't know. I used to die more than make kills until I read a crucible tips post a few months back. The single best piece of advise I took from it was slow the game down such that you're just walking from room to room, from one chokepoint to the other, being the aggressor instead of the prey. After awhile my k/d started going up. Mine still sucks but I consistently have more kills than deaths now, in IB that is. Once you see the game play out from a slowed down pace you'll start to get better. Stay back from your teammates a bit and start getting support kills. Hang back from the control points and don't take them right away, you'll get kills from the enemy team thinking it'll be an easy point to capture. It worked for me.

4 回覆It is fun, you just can't run in guns blazing, you need to be smart about what you do. Keep your back to the outside of the map, always run exotic primaries The best shotguns for Cruicible are the felwinters, matador 64, and the party crashed +1 The ash factory rocket launcher seems to be the best right now, it drops from crucible but I have yet to see this happen

I never enjoyed the crucible until I started running it with a clan. Playing with a team makes it much more enjoyable and allows you to learn the maps better. Now, 2 months down the line, I have started to enjoy crucible even if I'm playing on my own

Step one Find an exotic that takes skill or is fun to use. Like you say everyone is using thorn, shotgun combo. Look for something fun not a crutch. I use plan c a really fun gun to use as it matches my playstyle. Step two Find a game mode. You can't change the map, [b]yet[/b]. But you can change the game mode. Here are my top three(combined arms, control, clash.) Step three Find out your play style and use it. Use it with exotics, and legendaries. For armor find a good perks on legendary. And one good perk for exotics. For guns use the same on your favorite gun types

Never. Within the first two months it was fun, now it's nothing like before. They've removed good maps in favor of small shotgun range maps, auto rifles were destroyed, and in their absence hand cannons have risen. There is no sense of balance, there never will be.

It's fun playing salvage and skirmish. It's actually really fun playing non iron banner crucible during iron banner too. All the thorn guys are in IB so I can go in vanilla crucible and use scouts, ARs and pulses. I don't have to run hawkmoon constantly to compete (without lowering myself to thorn)

I try to position myself by certain friends that are bad, or haven't played. Then get matchmade with their level and it's pretty fun. I hate playing Crucible by myself, because it's boring. When you trade off, you get to relax every three games and help out your friends when they're up. The only thing that sucks is your K/D ratio is going to be horrible if you trade off, luckily for me, I could care less. Just relax and have fun! Edited: for a typo.
