I only enchant benign effects, that why it takes a while, nothing bad comes of the item itself. Don't worry. Anytime now you should start manifesting certain... abilities... that a fire drake has. It's up to your body itself on how much it effects, like actually turning into one at will like Julie does.

Drakes come in many varieties, some as small as a large dog, or dragon like. Either way the fire drake is obviously centered on warmth and fire. Sometimes dragons are also called drakes, the difference of the two depends on who you talk to.
