Do you know how the impact works into damage done? I know that higher impact means higher damage but how much does each point of impact increase your damage?

Impact is relative damage to guns in the same category. Atheons Epilogue has a low impact but high rate of fire. Meaning it's shots do less damage than say a slow during weapon like Suros. If both had max attack rating the Suros would hit higher but the overall damage per second could be around the same.

Basically, Impact is base damage, say a weapon does 100 damage against level 0s (Hypothetical) and has 150 attack. It'd do 107 damage to level 1's It'd do 114.5 damage to level 2's If it started at 200 base damage it'd do 214 to level 1's. (So you're right)

I believe I misunderstood what you were asking before, which I now believe is pertaining to Data mining websites that have impact on a scale of 1-100. You'd need to find a weapon with sufficient attack, find a level 1, and know the impact of the weapon. So for example, HC with 15 Attack with say 27 Impact VS level 1 dreg does 24 damage. 24/27=.88 For every one impact 'point' the base damage of the weapon increases by .88 I may test this tomorrow if it's indeed what you were asking.

Can't say that I do, I regard impact as base damage, the amount of damage done to level 0/1, this number is then increased by 7% for every additional level and then that new number is increased by 7% again, and so on. I mainly just want to dispel this belief that you only need a 300 Attack weapon when fighting level 30s.

A few people that have commented in this thread, and the countless other threads proclaiming it. Look at this post, made only 10 days before mine, it has 106 Ups and loads of comments, meanwhile the information in it is absolutely wrong, humorously enough it's titled "Why does no one understand this??". http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/84047545/0/0 People like him, those that spread misinformation, are the reason no one understands this.
