Something I don't believe that's been touched on since I first mentioned it was the idea that Bungie tells stories of their one Hero's soul. Each protagonist in Pathways, Marathon, Halo and (I believe) Destiny are the same soul reincarnated. "Oddly, this is familiar to you, as if it were from an old dream, but you can't exactly remember..." This is a quote from Marathon's manual (and is on the banner for the Universe forum). I think it summarizes my thoughts on Bungie's formula perfectly.
