Why do Legendary engrams give rare/blue items?
For the 2nd time now i've had a legendary engram drop only to be given a blue not even level 20 item.
Can someone explain this -blam!-ery?

I'll just put this out there as a comparison of sorts, but I have yet to receive a single legendary engram. However, I have gotten 2 legendary weapons and an exotic weapon. The exotic was not from an engram, but a reward after completing the daily crucible on the star map list.

Because color engrams just mean there is a higher chance for that color item. Supposedly a higher Cryptarch rank increases the chances as well. Why Bungie did this, I do not know. I can guess it is to make getting good gear longer, but it's still kind if disappointing.

I know your pain I probably went through roughly four or five (maybe six) legendary engrams then today I got one from lowly fallen dreg, went to the cryptarch completely expecting it to be a rare weapon and lord behold I got a legendary fusion rifle, (and I love fusion rifles). You got just keep on going till you get one its tough but when you get one its one of the best feelings in the world

4 回复It might be beacuse of your criptex rank. As you buy stuff from him and give him stuff to unlock your reputation with him goes up. The higher your rep, the better the gear. Same thing happens with the vanguards, gunsmith, groups (dead orbit, new monarch, so on) the more you deal with these people the higher your rep gets and the better stuff your given.

6 回复Yeah, it's pretty dumb and I will never see the logic behind it. I hope it's to be patched soon because otherwise it just comes off as an excuse to keep us grinding so that we don't notice the lack of content and creativity.

1 回复I understand that its RNG, but the drop rate in the legendary engrams is already extremely low. At level 22 i havent a single one. Ive only seen one notification while playing of someone else picking one up. Im not necessarily saying a legendary engram should be a definite legendary item pull, but i think it should at least have the highest chance.
