You're a Parent Now, What the hell now?
What would you do if you had a kid, planned, or surprise from the gutter flavored.
Personally when I have a kid, I'm immediately going to build in a secret room behind their bookshelf and fill it with legitimate looking runes, maps, and miscellaneous gravity falls-esque items. Then I'll wait for them to finally try and read that suuuppper weird looking book on the 6th shelf. Don't you ruin the surprise for my future child internet.

Oh man. My wife and I found out we were pregnant 3 days after I quit my job to go back to college. Words cannot express the pure joy and simultaneous terror that went through my body and mind. No insurance, no income, fresh student loans...man, what a day that was. Of course, due to some medical issues my wife had, we did not know if getting pregnant was even possible for us so it was a bit of a miracle as well. Hard to think bad thoughts when a miracle happens. My son is four now and, while there have been ups and downs, it has been an amazing ride. Kids change your life and perspective in ways you could not expect. It is awesome.

Considering I'm only two months into college. I would get up, walk into the bathroom. Look myself in the mirror and say, "Well, you gave it a go." Give up on my dreams. Find the best paying eight hour day job I could find and make my kids dream a reality best I could. I would take care of him/her and the woman whether we get back together or not.

2 回复I convert my degree from English to Law so I can have a shot at making some serious cash. Probably stop partying, get my head straight. Always had this little contingency plan in place when I was with my ex, there was a few weeks once when we were both concerned I'd knocked her up because she'd missed some BC pills, I'd finished inside her, she was complaining a bit about being queasy and her breasts feeling a bit sore, I was bricking it. Luckily turned out to be a false scare. I'm only 19, far too young. Always a chance though. One of my best mates knocked a girl up when he was my age, now he's got a 6 year old daughter.

I can't in good faith say that i'd have the mental or emotional strength to have another child anytime soon. However, hypothetically i'd try to finish school while keeping my part time job in hopes that I could cover at least part of the child's expenses...but in all honesty the thought of that makes me miserable and suicidal thoughts are more comforting. I haven't had them in years but when considering the possibility of having another kid...I can't help what pops into my head. Even without those thoughts in mind I already have times where I become sad for no reason and feel as though my efforts towards a decent future are ultimately pointless. I realize these thoughts and emotions have no base considering how things are going for me right now and I shouldn't let them slow my pace or get me down, but it feels sort of like trying to walk through mud or tar when i'm in those moods. I've never done that second one of course, but i'd imagine it'd be pretty damned difficult if not impossible.

6 回复It's not going to stay with me. If it was later in life, I'd attempt to not only be a dad, but a friend as well. If it took, we'd go do cool things together and I would be the cool dad. Nothin' is cooler than a cool dad.
