I don't have any friends to play Destiny with, will I loose a large part of the experience since I will probably have to lone wolf most of it?

My suggestion is to find and join one of the numerous clans popping up on this site. it can be intimidating at first, but eventually you'll find a core group and have a blast. IMO you DO lose something by solo-ing, unless you prefer the lone wolf approach, in which case god-speed and have fun!
