Swords, Swords, Swords
Will there be usuable swords in Destiny?
The Fallen obviously use swords, but can Guardians wield them too?
Bungie has had much experience with this majestic murder machine, from their steel arsenals in Myth to the burning plasma swords of Halo. Will Destiny be void of such a dynamic in melee, or will it stick to its fists, knives, and "space magic push attack?"

7 回复I do believe, and hope, that destiny will have swords in it. There have been a couple of hints by deej that this is the case. Anyway I think that if swords really are in destiny, that they would be an individual weapon assigned to the special slot. I can't see them in the primary or heavy slots for two reasons 1 swords probably wouldn't be reliable enough to be placed in the primary slot. You couldn't run around with a sword while everyone else is brandishing a rifle, you would get shot full of bullets. 2 I dont think that swords would be able to put out the high amount of damage that the heavy slot is meant for, and if they did, having a weapon that doesn't need ammo do as much damage ad a heavy weapon is kind of op imo So I can only see swords realistically being placed in the special slot, as a cqc weapon for special situations, much like a shotgun but with shorter range and more damage. All the weapons in the special slot have their merits on certain situations, and if swords do exist I think this is where they will be placed. A sword would be useful if I were being swarmed by thralls

3 回复If they put swords in the game, I would like to see them as part of a Titan subclass. Sort of like the Bladedancer for the Hunter but more durable and harder hitting instead of sneaky and fast.

After some thought, i have a strong feeling that swords got cut from the game, for 4 reasons. Reason 1) The games reliance on the 3 ammo system. PvP is basically based around an ammo hierarchy. Swords don't use ammo. Halo's energy sword had energy, but it couldn't be refilled. Not to mention they could only feasibly be special weapons, putting them in direct competition with the shotgun. Reason 2) This is my weakest reason, but its a reason none the less. It would kind of be redundant with the hunters bladedancer skill. However the same could be said about hand canons and Golden Gun. Reason 3) Deej got in trouble for mentioning swords Reason 4) Each class has a very specific and upgradable melee attack

1 回复I sat there imagining the use of swords in-game, so yeah, I think it'd be cool - but ofcourse as a special weapon slot or something like that, like Bearshasp said.

1 回复if there are swords it would be neat if they were just a visual item that changed the way your melee looked. There is was still a Giant knife of the hip of every titan during beta but yall insisted on Falcon Punching everyone. would be neat if your Melee attack was just a quick uppercut with a sword or somthin like that.
