1 回复"bla bla bla sample size bla bla" But seriously, while you can question the sample pool and whether it's representative of the nation, this at least highlights a problem. To be fair, the results are better than every other country sampled except South Korea (which is still pretty sad). And finally, my favorite quote for people on both sides of the statistics reliability debate: "All statistics are wrong; some are useful."

While surprising, I don't think it is the most shocking news in the article. The scary part to me is the solid backwards slide in scores. Shows that the newer generations are getting less education than generations that came before them.

I don't think 2,200 people is enough to generalize 330 million people. Also, I'd like to know where this sample was taken as I think the demographics might have skewed the results. Oh, hell! What does that matter?! So we go around the sun! If we went around the moon or round and round the garden like a teddy bear, it wouldn't make any difference! All that matters to me is the work! Without that, my brain rots. Put that in your blog - or better still, stop inflicting your opinions on the world! - Sherlock Holmes

I tend not to take much from the discovery channel, after they pulled that false megalodon documentary, very seriously anymore. It's all too possible that people were asked "trick questions" during the test. And most students don't understand that astrology and astronomy are different things, because astrology is generally not taught anymore because it's superstition and because they sound so similar they could have them confused with each other. I couldn't make an assumption until I see the actual test they were given. Even though I know there are a lot of dumb people out there they can't possibly be this dumb in today's society.
