How did the aft section of Forward Unto Dawn quadruple in size while drifting in space?
They have a point though. The previous design would just tear in half when entering an atmosphere or something... I do prefer the new design, but agree that they should have kept it to the newly commissioned Strident- Class ships. But what's done is done. Alternatively, you could go the fgt route and be like 343 IS FANFICTION HURR HUE HUR! But that's a stupid way of thinking.

Like it or not, that's how it is.
Just goes to show how much 343 is a terrible company that doesn't know how to keep things consistent. They could have easily still had that entire sequence in Halo 4 without having to completely overhaul the ship, Hell they even showed the same Halo 3 design of the ship in the Halo 4 Teaser. The new design is just a giant middle finger to Bungie and Halo 3.
Alternatively, you could go the fgt route and be like 343 IS FANFICTION HURR HUE HUR!
Well considering 343 likes to butcher what was already established in previous games, and make the new trilogy only accessible to people who've read the books. It's no wonder a lot of casual Halo fans and people who only play it for the Multiplayer Competitiveness has decried 343 and the new trilogy when only the first one is out.
