>implying 18k is a small number
Maybe it's not as popular as other FPS' anymore but 18k is still a lot of people, if you had an open house party and 18k people showed up, I bet you wouldn't scoff at it

true, but compare it to other games that come out and don't have an online population of more than a couple hundred after a few months? 18k isn't bad, it's more than enough to get a match and way more than enough for some variety

only because you're comparing it to AAA games, and the open world RPG genre isn't as overflooded as the FPS genre. 18,000 is a lot of people, but you're only saying its small because you're looking at games with way bigger populations. Comparatively speaking, sure it's smaller but 18,000 people is by no measure a small group of people.

18k people is a small amount of people for a franchise as big as Halo. When Halo 4 first launched, there would be over 400k people on at a time, and now, 11 months later it's down to a measly 10 - 15k.
only because you're comparing it to AAA games
Halo 4 is a AAA game, you moron.

I know it's a AAA game you ignoramus (like that one?). If you read any other part of this sub-thread, you'd know I meant that 18k is fairly big on its own. Comparatively yes, 18k is smaller than 400k. That's how numbers work, good job. If 18k screaming, poop flinging monkeys showed up outside your house you wouldn't go "psh, only 18 thousand?". 18k isn't a ghost town, it's the population of a small country.
I know it's a AAA game you ignoramus (like that one?).
Yes, but the way you said t made it sound like you were saying Halo 4 isn't a AAA game.
only because you're comparing it to AAA games
Why wouldn't I compare it to another AAA title? 18k is a lot of people, yes. But like I said, 18k is pathetic for a title as big as Halo. Halo 4 was a flop and it failed hard. If 343 doesn't get their shit together then it's just going to get worse. Although Halo 3 is where the Chief's story should have ended, MS had to bleed it dry. Face it, Halo is a stale franchise that's past its expiration date.

What I mean is it's only small comparatively. yeah, 1 million is more than 18k, thats how numbers work. But 18k apples is a lot of apples, 18k oranges is a lot of oranges, 18k people is still a lot of people. In response to your other comment and this one, I'm not saying that halo isn't doing worse than previous halo's or its contemporaries, it is. What I'm getting at is that everyone is acting like 18k people is a ghost town, it's not.

Then you remember the machinimas, great wealth of community content, the consistently full playlists. The community is important to the and continuation to a series. Without a good population all of that and more dies. Stagnant. And you can't see that?
