My brother's a Pathologist Assistant, so there's two pieces of advice I can give you.
1. Make sure the school you go to has an anatomy course where you work on actual cadavers. I know it's creepy but it sticks out on a resume. That's literally why my bro was hired.
2. Get used to seeing gross stuff. Sometimes I wonder if my brother is making a Frankenstein monster at work from the stuff he tells me. You will get your hands dirty in Pathology.
