That was painful to watch. CoD should not get any praise, it has destroyed the fps genre and is starting its work on other genres. It deserves no praise.
CoD didn't destroy a genre. It's a successful franchise. Other developers saw that it was and wanted to cash in on it (Heck, they didn't even come up with every feature in their game).
Blaming CoD for other developers changing their games is ridiculous.
Disagreed. Black Ops' storyline was great from a content point of view (though still not exactly anything to write home about). It hasn't destroyed the FPS genre. The people who buy it over and over and the developers who think that copying it will attract new consumers have.
Although I definitely agree it doesn't deserve any of the praise it gets here (aside from Call of Duty 4, which genuinely did usher in new growth for the arcade shooter).
Well if it wasn't so successful devs wouldn't feel the need to copy it. So indirectly it has destroyed the genre. And you will never hear me say anything good about a CoD game. I have played a few and have hated everyone of them that I have tried.
