Read it thoroughly
so in one short article MS confirms:
1.) The kinect does indeed collect info.
2.) Cannot be powered off independently from the console, which is something i think most knew..but the fanboys wanted to pretend that was not the case. now they cannot argue that point anymore.
3.) The console and MS in general have more interest in reaching "other" demographics, they are unconcerned with core gamers.
4.) A major design consideration in both the kinect and the console is advertising
5.) they believe that the consumer will tolerate invasive ads as part of the "experience"

I'm not sure what you mean by 'common', but if you're asking if I believe Microsoft isn't lying about their [url=http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/privacy]statement concerning Kinect privacy[/url], then yes, I do believe them. Don't take this as me trying to get you to change your mind; everyone is entitled to believe what they like, no matter how crazy a conspiracy theory it might be... But this really doesn't have anything to do with my response, which was in regards to your statement that the article 'confirms' the things you listed. It does not.
