Actually, Bungie is not owned by Activision, they merely have a 10 year contract with Activision, who will serve as their publisher for the Destiny franchise. While Activisioin may have a hand in the marketing for the game and franchise, they don't have any direct hand in the creation of the game. These duties fall to Bungie, who have been an independent studio since the end of 2007 and will continue to own the Destiny intellectual property (IP).

You first state that many people think of Destiny as coming from the creators of Call of Duty, something that I have never heard from anyone else in the community. You insinuate that Activision makes Call of Duty and will make Destiny. In fact, several studios that Activision owns (infinity Ward, Treyarch, etc..) make the games. As I previously stated, Activision is a publisher, not a game developer and will act only as a publisher for Destiny. Bungie is in fact in good hands, because they own themselves, hence an independent company.

Coming out doesn't mean it was being made. It just means that it is being released by Activision. I didn't insinuate that the creators were of C.o.D. However, I did use some incorrect language that may look as if I did say so. I shall revise this post.
