Thoughts on this?
Seems like the government is trying to push equality by taking out a law that basically discriminates against gays and lesbians. If DOMA is indeed struck down, that'll be one step closer to social equality.
Edit: DOMA stands for: Defense of Marriage Act, which basically says, "Only a man and a woman can get married."

8 回复One major problem I have with this is that the President thinks he can pick and choose which laws to enforce, and this is not so. The President must enforce all laws, whether he agrees or disagrees with them.

2 回复由Buona Sera编辑: 2/24/2013 3:40:55 PMA more accurate description of the Defense of Marriage Act is "if another state in the US recognizes your same sex marriage as legal, other states don't have to". That is in direct violation of the constitution. It was shoved through by conservatives in the 90s when Hawaii was going to vote on legalizing gay marriage. They didn't want gay people from their state flying to Hawaii, getting married, and coming back to reap the benefits.

2 回复Totally against it. I hate homosexuals. It's impossible to go to a Wendy's now-a-days without seeing some queer talking about his "fabulous" day.
