America is so silly with these kind of things. > Is there a doubt that the supposed guilty person is indeed guilty? > Yes? >Don't kill them. > Is the convict completely guilty without a doubt and should receive death penalty? > Yes? >Executioner lines them up and shoots them. It'd really make things simpler.

  • Not Humane, not going to pass well with the USA and the entire world.

  • It's completely human and a lot better than the current death row system. A bullet to the brain, they won't feel it. They're dead before they can say 'ow'.

  • Again, media publicity will demonize it. It's an unpopular opinion since many people will most likely react negatively to it. America already has a bad reputation for being obese and ignorant of other country politics. Do we really need every country in the world thinking we're okay with killing a convict? Again, years of appeals = More money than keeping them in a cell. Economically thinking about it, killing someone costs much more than keeping them in a cell with minimal comforts.

  • Minimal comforts? Some prisoners get treated better than students do...

  • Never saw that happen, but I spent all of my time studying and getting good grades, so I guess I was sheltered from that.

  • What does studying and getting good grades have to do with anything? I'm not sure how that makes you "sheltered". Did you know that prisons give better meals than most schools do?

  • Maybe because I applied myself while in school, my teachers appreciated me? So, in essence, I got "treated" better than what you think students would be treated like. I still don't see how you manage to compare a prisoner to a student. A student is: -Not caged in -Doesn't have to worry about getting shanked. -Doesn't have to worry about getting -blam!-. -Has access to food 24/7 in their own house. -Can go outside any time they want. Prisoners would love these privileges. But no, they don't have those. So tell me, how are prisoners treated better than students?

  • A gun, a magazine, a blindfold. Years of holding, food, etc. Which is more expensive? It's obvious.

The use of a gun is not humane which is why it is not used. A couple states still allow firing squads, but that's only on the request of the prisoner I believe. Why should we be humane to criminals that would otherwise 'deserve' death? Because we're better than that. And not all of us would put ourselves so low as to kill others. Secondly, as it stands the Death Penalty is very, very expensive because of the extensive costs of housing the prisoner for decades of appeals and maintaining special housing. All in all, while the cost of an injection itself is only around $30 (if I remember correctly, though part of me wants to say $7), the whole thing is ridiculously expensive for the state. After all, these people have nothing to lose so they go all out with every other option they have hurting us financially.

  • Basically, prison for life = Cheaper than killing them. Prisoners are getting smarter than the general population.
