The only good thing I've seen in any of the content released about the new expansion, is a simple QoL update that we should've had years ago. Being able to target certain slots for leveling. Everything else is either negative, or doesn't move the needle in either direction. This is probably the worst I've ever seen the game. Hell even when I quit for a year in D1 I was angry and cared. Now it's just apathy, with a faint sense of sadness over the squandered potential. -blam!- EoF.

I would not call myself hyped as I curb my expectations for any destiny release, but I am looking forward to it literally just because we have not had an overhaul to core game systems of this scale since probably forsaken, maybe armor 2.0 with shadowkeep but that was just armor. A lot of our loot, save for what is at the peak of the meta right now (think Hezen vengeance, aberrant action, velocity baton, and praedyth's revenge), is going to be phased out, not entirely useless just dated enough to encourage adoption of the new loot, which I think is good. This is a debate as old as time in Destiny but I would argue that it is good to get a full refresh now and then; right now we have the best in slot weapons for every purpose imaginable in the game from the most niche to the most broadly applicable, and they are running out of ways to encourage us to play new content when the artifice duality armor from 3 years ago is still the best armor in the game and every weapon purpose has been filled. They could sunset my entire vault right now, there is nothing you have to GRIND for in this game that has attached me to it. So im glad we will get a power reset and all new weapons AND armor to play with, I think the game will feel fresh for the first time in a long time. I dont care about any content except for the raids and dungeons which they havent spoken about but have confirmed will come with the DLC so that's me satisfied. Portal looks like the fortnite menu and screams a departure from destiny's vibe but im not going to cry about a UI change. Ultimately really just hope it gets people playing again. People have thrown around "destiny is dead" forever but the game genuinely feels anemic right now with LFG and FTF just absolutely dead for anything other than GMs or featured raids. Forums are crazy negative these days I mean just look at the replies to this post. Hopefully it just is good enough that we get some volume of players back on the game

I'm so glad I didn't preorder. Money toward others' games gonna be a wiser choice.

It's slowly becoming division 2 with all changes but the division 2 is really bad.

Everything they've shown about Edge of Faith so far has been either disappointing or extremely vague. And both are not the sentiment you'd want people having with your reputation being where it is.

But hold on, if our current exotic weapons arent updated, how do we reacquire them at higher tiers in the new system? Will weapons be added to rahool and at different tiers? Or are exotic weapons exempt from the new system? And yeah, one would think that tiers wouldnt matter with exotics - since you cant change the perks - but there's apparently a correlation between output and tier.

Yeah, I expect very minimum story aspects, we will be told rather than shown on alot of things Due to a scaled back budget and workforce, and big action set piece cutscenes are not in the budget It will be like vanilla D1, except we can read it in game

Without knowing where the gear will drop my concern is that people who don't raid or play the highest level of PvP will fall behind - perhaps to the point that they wont bother at all. I used to play this MMORPG where you had to grind a lot of PvP AND also run high-tier raids to get the best set bonus combo for the spec I normally played. And when you did you could pretty much lollygag PvP and out-dps/heal everyone. For weapon tiers specifically I feel like it could be a huge advantage in terms of vault space. If you get to pick several things on a weapon you dont need ten of them in the vault, you just need one you can switch around. As for the destination, I think it looks boring - similar to the Pale Heart. Not really a fan of the traversing/puzzle BS either. I just want to go online to shoot some aliens, not to do the same puzzle for the 57th time in the same location.
