Some of us think of starving children each time we take a bite of our food. Most don't. Some of us consider how much water we waste when showering. Many don't. It's easy to say "life is good" when your stomach is full and you have a warm, safe place to sleep. As the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. Choosing to ignore a problem, however, is a fools plan. That said, many of us are aware of things Bungo has done and seems to continue doing. Others are not. Those who are not aware or who choose to ignore say, "the game is great!" Others of us simply won't turn our heads aside and look the other way. We call out Bungo when it's appropriate: take for example the guardian angels of this community who pointed out the XP throttling and weighted weapon rolls. I'd add anyone of them to my friends list. You say "Because many of us are still having fun and like the universe" as if to imply anyone with a complain hates the game or life itself. "It's just a game," people cry. But it's not just a game. Time is valuable and people matter. This company has, it seems, fooked over numerous people and you're hearing the repercussions of that. It's not "just a game." Some people play games to escape the harsh realities life can throw their way. Gaming for them (and this isn't me btw) is an escape. For other, like me, it's merely entertainment. D2 however is easily my favourite video. I'm passionate about it. I've spent thousands on it in support of the game and it's various charities, via emblem purchases and what not. Then you discover the shady -blam!- and it puts a sour taste in your mouth that's hard to wash out. What if when you ordered food at a restaurant, it arrived with a bunch of filthy maggots in it? Should I say to you, "don't worry, it's just a plate of food!" I doubt that would sit well with you, especially if you were passionate about cooking, health, and cleanliness. Look how many people get angry over the sports? I don't even watch sports and yet I've played them all my life, at decent levels, too (almost reaching paid). We create things that should better the world and or our community. Lately, Bungo has been pooping all over their community. Just a game, some say. I say, it's a community of gamers passionate about this specific game, who've invested much of their valuable time and money in it for different reasons, be it entertainment, the friendships they've many playing, or what have you. Things matter. People matter. This game impacts millions of people. Not everyone on earth has the smarts, skills, talent, means, etc. to go out in the word to build hospitals and cure diseases, but they can bring joy to those around them. It just so happens that this game has managed to build an incredible fan base, where many of those fans have become heavily invested in the lives of their fellow gamers. Many relationships have formed through Destiny 1 and 2. For some, when destiny dies, so may those relationships. That could sting, although I'd argue they weren't very strong relationships if the end of d2 ends their relationship. The point I'm making is Destiny isn't just a game for many of it's player-base -- it's a lifestyle or even a job. So when Bungo fooks up, it affects a lot of people. I can look past certain things, such as XP throttling, but many things I can't...such as lying to your paying customers which infuriates me, or stealing from designers (especially when you're a billion dollar company), or removing paid content. I'm not without my faults, but I'm also not in a position where my actions directly impact the lives of millions of people. Like I said, this isn't just a game for many. So, consider that. I try to.
