I was thinking stands could be tied to a doctor strange like portal that holds for a short period once set up kinda like symestra in overwatch, except duration is only about as long as rift once set and can be destroyed (PvP balancing)

very lethal lol, and i can't count how many times i've been saved by icarus dash when trying to jump off a ledge and your jump gets eaten by a small rock so having a way to save myself on other subclasses would just be nice lol
