Regardless of our and the community’s opinions they will surely go back to cbmm at some point, just by looking at the history.
Probably, it's a back and forth that won't end
And you can’t be serious about your idea of fair. It isn’t fair to have a new light’s first pvp match be against a six stack of unbroken d1 vets.
Ultimately that new light is paired with 5 other guardians and exactly how often did any 1 player match full teams of top 1%ers? Truly?
it's an edge case to show your idea of fair is flawed.
But even that case I feel is still fair - under the moat extreme case of 6 new lights all vs 6 top 1%ers who have meta loot sure that'd be unfair, but the chance of that happening is so remote how real of an occurrence is that?
Also even thar fringe case is solved by creating a bracket of any players first say, 30 games or so, past that let it be pure cbmm
lol yeah that's totally fair. #sarcasm
i just honestly feel that if CB comes back and stays the natural outcome will be sweaty matches every match.
especially if they got rid of all pvp quest requirements and 3 matches for a pinnacle.
new and below average players will lose most every match and feel like they don't even have the chance to learn and get better (as seen by complaints toward the end of this last CB era)
they will eventually stop playing pvp altogether, then some average players would start feeling this and leave as well.
then it would just be sweats in the player pool and yall would be complaining that you can't chill and relax in a PVP mode were you compete with other people.
people don't play pickup basketball games to chill and relax, sure everyone's skill level can vary vastly, but no one is there to kick back.

But the reality is said sweats make up a small % of the population and thusly wouldn't be see very often, everyone's game would be filled with primarily gold and silver elo players, average and below, cbmm also must draw many players just going off data and tracker sites which always show huge upticks when they add it - look at pvp numbers under warmind, forsaken, season of arrivals till haunted

Idk what you mean by this because people do play pick up basketball games casually, there also isn't any "no you're too good/bad to play with us" is pickup games
