Think of MMOs like WoW or RuneScape, do they give free loot to people who didnt do the raid??

As of the Cataclysm expansion- the answer is yes. The in-game raid-finder tool literally provided all players, solo/casual/hard-core PvE or PvP players alike were matchmade into a moderately less intensive version of any available endgame content. Trash mob pulls, and boss encounters were presented with varying versions of baseline raid mechanics that were intentionally forgiving with iLvL-scaled damage/hp tuning so that more casual inexperienced players had a reasonable place to start. The loot pool- whether class specific armor set pieces to raid themed weapons etc were lower iLvL versions of the normal non-matchmade raid drops with reasonably reduced stats; JUST like how D2 already has normal vs. Adept weapons, but in a far more accessible weekly lockout system. Eventually, I personally made my way into signing up for and completing full-fledged normal and heroic versions of several raids in lieu of the RaidFinder feature. Which still required that I put in the extra effort to learn mechs, optimize my build, and join/coordinate with a raid-focused guild to obtain marginally better, albeit otherwise identical set bonuses/weapons moving forward.

Yes. Which, is a qualification that IS met in simplest form by playing out trials matches. Taking the time to participate in the matchmade trials playlist is literally completing pvp content in Destiny 2...despite the errant syllogism that seems to be at the center of your initial sentiment- win or lose; flawless or not. Those who indeed wish to pursue and eventually achieve the apex pvp-geared accolade of a flawless lighthouse trip are justly rewarded with superior loot variants, a gildable title, cosmetic flair etc. and access to additional passage types for subsequent trials *content* participation. Idk what seems to make this concept so tenebrous for seasoned flawless players/hard-nosed aspirants, but it has become an arbitrarily contrarian talking point that ultimately works against the D2 community as a whole. In any case- it's an egregiously misguided, if not, stale bad take at this point coming from a menial ratio of the player base who seem to feel threatened as though there is even anything left for they themselves to prove beyond keeping normal ToO gun rolls from the hands of their less skilled/non-pvp intensive players. 🤔

I killed Oryx in D1's TTK storyline AND in D1's King's Fall, therefore I am already a Kingslayer and deserve all the Harrowed weapons for totally free as well as instant completion of all King's Fall triumphs in D2. I see no problem with this at all :)
