Hi there. You've been temporarily suspended, not banned. The first suspension lasts for 30 minutes. Any additional suspensions you receive will last 60 minutes. Players are suspended for leaving multiple matches, causing their teammates to be left at a disadvantage each time, regardless of the cause.
If you continue to experience disconnections, I suggest avoiding playing Crucible until the issue subsides or gets resolved.

I'm aware of the suspension issues with people leaving on their own terms, however I have no ability to control my ISP services, and I pay for 1G download/35Mbps upload with the ability to have over 9 devices running at once... im running 2 devices... basically only my console... this is something I've been dealing with for over a year... so why should I not be able to play crucible when I see people lagging non stop through entire matches and they don't get dc/c'd? I don't even have the opportunity to lag, I just immediately DC...
Players are responsible for securing a stable connection to the game, both their home network setup and with their ISP.
Allowing players to leave matches when disconnecting would be providing a loophole to let players to intentionally disconnect to avoid the penalty, defeating the purpose of it. Suspensions exist to protect the experience of other players who are negatively affected whenever a member of their team leaves a match, not only punishing quitters.
If you haven't done so already, I recommend going through the advanced articles linked in the Network Troubleshooting Guide to troubleshoot your connection issues. If you're frequently disconnecting and experiencing lag, that suggests a problem with your network setup, interference to your network, or an issue with your ISP.
Thanks for the tip, I've already done all of that, and I find it curious that players can rubber band all over a match and not get suspended but I get suspended for being kicked during an activity I'm legimately trying to stay in... and it was Control! Which isn't actually considered Comp (glory/trials)... unless you have actual information to assist with this problem, then you are just wasting both our time.
Suspensions are only given to players who leave matches in progress.
If you see other players lagging, please use the in-game report feature to report them for "Bad Connection". Players reported for frequently exhibiting a bad connection are investigated by Bungie staff and often lead to them receiving a 2 week/2 month restriction from PvP.

This was addressed in a recent TWAB and will be adjusted in a future update:
Note that suspension timers for Control are temporarily shared with Competitive playlists (Glory and Trials). We are actively working on separating the suspension timer for Competitive vs. Control.
