They changed how matchmaking works from last weekend. Give up on Trials for this weekend, I get it, this was a horrible mistake but, don't completely give up on Trials. Bungie is still tweaking Trials and hopefully they know this weekend was a very bad change.

  • I think the complainers are the ones used to going flawless, and now have go flawless against others that went flawless. Its like the competition doesnt like competiton. Sweats dont like other sweats. Try hards dont like other try hards.

  • My Trials history is around 0.2-0.3 KD since D1Y1. Obviously, I’m a ‘tortoise’ and play the long grind game. Last week I played Trials for hours, getting stomped non-stop yet over time, accumulated all the armour sets for H/W and most for T; and a few weapons too. And I did have some good moments here and there, especially when a pair of slayers were on the team. This week, on my T, the first three or four matches felt good as I was up against players I could battle against, and my teammates did the same. I had some really tight games and held my own more than once; some we won, some not - but, it felt like a fair fight and the better team won! Fantastic 👍 Then, every game thereafter was a stompfest against highly coordinated teams sporting Trials flawless gear/adept or Timelost guns, and Vexes, against who, my team got wrecked. Many times, players quit my team, leaving us in the lurch. And the win rate slowed to a tired snail’s pace. Eventually, I got the two missing armour pieces I was chasing, one as an end game drop (😁) and one from the rank-up engram. This means, I’m done. Going flawless was never on my game plan. Neither is being easily farmed by teams that deliberately exploit the system (🤬)… I could play more, just to try improve my game, but, there’s no chance of that, and besides, Rumble is a better ‘training ground’ for that. So, what incentivises a low tier, solo player like me to enter the Trials arena? 1. A level playing field 2. Attainable rewards 3. A bit of fun I think Bungie has made positive changes to Trials, and they are in the process of tweaking / refining the player experience. To understand such, they need data to evaluate, and hopefully, update such changes, and communicate their findings with us ASAP, just like they did at the end of Trials last week. So, I shall probably play some more Trials this weekend, to help in that data gathering aspect. 😇 There are many threads / posts about this week’s Trials; lots of harsh comments directed at the card reset exploiter teams, which are well deserved, if true?! Also, there are quite a few interesting suggestions on how to make things better, eg, if a player/team go flawless (at anytime) during this week’s Trials, on any character, they will automatically be added to the Flawless player pool for next week’s Trials. ✅ Anyhoo, that’s it! Just my 2d worth. YMMV. Cheers! MDGA 👈

  • Putting flawless players in only one pool quarantined off by themselves is exactly why people are 6 win resetting. It's not a solution it's another problem that puts players in the exact same position they were in before Bungie decided to change trials. Nobody, including the dedicated players want that. But as you have told me, you don't normally play higher tier pvp so it might not have been a thought when responding. I just don't want players new to Trials to quit totally just yet because I think Bungie could be capable of solving the actual issues trials had/has.

  • Hmmm?! 🤨 Fact: I started playing Trials in D1Y1, therefore, by default, I’ve been virtually playing top tier teams of stompers ever since; so to say that no thought went into my previous post seems a little disingenuous. The simple argument that higher skilled players fail to grasp, is that all lower tier players want is to play on a level playing fielder, against genuine players at their own level. It’s really not hard to understand! If black belts farmed white- and lighter coloured belts either in competition or within the dojo, just so they could strut their obvious superior skills, well, that dojo / competition would soon wither and die. That’s precisely what happened to Trials in the past. It’s starting to happen again via exploitation of the 7-win Card system, allegedly. As an historically consistent 0.2-0.3 KD player, that is my considered opinion, based on my long term experience. Any yudansha /mudansha will also understand. 🥋 I fully appreciate what Bungie is trying to do to ‘repair’ the Trials experience for ALL players; it will take a few iterations to establish a workable and sustainable mode, that appeals to ALL players; and so it should be. I also praised Bungie for their post-Trials information posts, done ASAP, no doubt! I hope they continue along this path. In the meantime, I’ll try and do my bit, and git gooder, as a gud skrub does! 🤖 Just my 2d worth. YMMV. Cheers! MDGA 👈
