I was checking DestinyTracker and even after the nerf to shotguns & 120 handcannons... I'm still very much annoyed by the fact that Felwinter doesn't move from the top 3 weapons in the meta and that in the top 10 there're 5 handcannons.
Why are we still stuck with this meta in PvP?
Haven't you guys had enough if handcannons & shotguns?
When are we going to see more snipers? More scouts? More pulses?
I mean I'm happy to see Adored & Frozen orbit there but what about other weapons??

Small maps plus Bungie refusing to tackle the core issues that make HCs so insanely potent gets that. They still have too much aim assist, and they also have too much reach for their zoom level and sheer flexibility. Even just swapping AR and HC range with an AA nerf fixes that (and keep 120s where they're at currently but bump the zoom to 16). The maps will never not have shotguns be the general favorite, nerf ammo economy, shotgun output in general, whatever, they'll be the favorite until you get some... Let's say Favela or Warhawk sized maps over the more Nuketown-y type maps we currently have. Not to mention free mobility in the form of Icarus Dash and to a lesser extent St0mps make shotguns and HCsEVEN MORE favored over your Pulses and the like. Pellet shotguns are simply impossible to give a major nerf to, the reality is they aren't actually that good as guns, especially after the most recent changes they had.

If the meta actually switches from HC/Shotguns the HC users will cry and throw giant tantrums.

Its the maps and insane movement of Hunters and TTD Warlocks that are the culprit. It was never shotguns as a whole but it definitely was needing a nerf. Why do you think people don’t play Titan anymore after Behemoth was nerfed? It was free movement for absolutely nothing and when it got nerfed, people went back to Hunter or TTD Warlocks. If you bring maps and adjust those two classes(Titans have the weakest movement imo, but feel free to disagree) movement, then Shotguns don’t feel like the only special weapons used. And HCs are always going to be meta. As long as they retain the ability to 3 tap, they’ll always be effective because it allows for peek shooting. And they’re range is not really an issue anymore when guns like DMT and Messenger kill at 50 meters and 42 meters respectively. The only time HCs were bad were D2Y1 or Season of Arrivals with the obnoxious Auto spam meta.

Because. We. Like. Handcannons. Especially: Last word. The iconic shin malphurs gun Thorn. The infamous guardian killer. Palindrome. The legendary pvp handcannon rivaled only by eyasluna. Fatebringer. The legendary first raid handcannon. Hawkmoon. The infamous 1 to 2 tap God. Ace of spades. Caydes closest ally. I'm a bow main, but love to put on a handcannon from time to time because THEY FEEL AMAZING. I LIKE THEM. I'M NOT SORRY.

"Meta" is just a excuse to use what others tell you to use. We are all different with different play styles. What works for one person may not work for you. Use what works for you not what works for others.

120 nerf isn't going to get rid of them, but use any 180 and you will be ok, 120s rely mostly on crits now and can't usually engage more than one target at a time, 140s are pretty good too, or even an Smg. Shottys still are good from scavenger mods, fusions are in an ok spot if you can charge at the right time, a sidearm can be a viable anti-shotgun weapon too. Meta isn't 100% 120/shotty, and is once again changing slowly, scouts and pulses are once again in a good spot, best bet is use what your good at, regardless of weapon, if it gets you kills even cheaply use it.

The shotgun meta only exist because of special ammo spam from scavenger mods. The reason felwinter is and will always be used is because its the most accessible aggressive frame shotgun in the game. Its really easy to get and it has all the perks players would want from any aggressive frame shotgun. Felwinter is fine bruh, the range nerf made a massive difference. I cant even consistently kill players at ranges where it was extremely easy to get kills from. Im using the current seasons slug shotgun, its not as good as chaperone but man is it consistent.

Shotgun nerf was a joke and did nothing....120 are still used but we start seeing more 140 instead..... I knew the nerf would be a joke on shotgun and that the 120 nerf would only revert back to 140....
-
it’s the movement and maps. shotguns aren’t even that good but the movement is so it makes them seem better than they are. look at fortnite for example. shotguns are supported heavily by the build system. without any builds shotguns are useless.

Yall are STILL crying about this? Lol. Nobody wants to sit in the back of the map in a pulse meta.

由Twin Inferno编辑: 7/18/2021 8:52:19 PMDude have you ever considered that maybe it’s just what ppl like using? You have to delete the guns for them to stop being used. Also use your own preferred loadout, it’s the skill not the gun. Also griddskipper, chroma rush, fusions and GLs are being used plenty. Stop b#tching

They’re still super effective, though. People aren’t going to use lesser effective weapons based on idealism. They use what they can play best with, especially in trials. Unless they’re doing bounties, but that only substantiates my argument in that the meta use age would probably be even higher in trials if you removed the people doing weapon-kill bounties with weapons they’d commonly ignore.
