I feel "bloom" or Bungie targeting was made by Bungie? Being a long time pc gamer I can't say I've ever seen this outside of consoles in the last 15 years. It's a shit mechanic that has no place in games, andcwhen you search the topic all roads lead to Bungles.

 • Bungie experimented with it in Halo: Reach, then implemented it in D2. Honestly, I'm not too biffed about it. It does make sense to have Bloom on Full-Auto weapons because obviously it would be impossible to control every movement perfectly, but when you look at games like CS:GO, its clear that there isn't a need for Bloom so much as the PC version of the game is simply a Port from the Consoles.

 • As I said I'm not familiar with bloom, other than lighting on pc as a term or mechanic so I had to look this up. Apparently, and don't quote me on this, but the explanation given is that bloom is a strictly rng based hit system? It certainly looked that way in the video and explains why the shooting mechanics on console feel so off.

 • Basically. It adds a small amount of RNG to firing your weapon if you don't wait for your shots to realign.

 • I see what they tried to do and it was a good idea, but when your whole system is rpm based it completely breaks the mechanics. In that case get rid of aim assist and bloom completely and you have the same thing.
