With the news coming out that this game was rebooted back in 2016, it seems pretty obvious now why this game is so lacking. It was rushed to launch.
Of all the dumb decisions. You had a perfect stopgap measure in Destiny 1 to keep your player base entertained. You were already on an absolute roll putting out quality content for that game, why not dedicate some of your resources to keeping that going for as long as it took for you to properly finish Destiny 2?
Of course we all already know the answer, and that's the money, you needed to rush that game to launch to satisfy Activision and their investors. Well congratulations, because now you're left with three options, do nothing and keep haemorrhaging players, spend a ton of time and money repairing the game for free, or give us back more of the content in paid DLC and watch your reputation and community implode because nobody likes paying for something they've already paid for.
As for the whole "it's too hard to make content" revelation, I hope every single person reading this knows that the entire reason Eververse exists is so Bungie can drip feed us lootboxes in order to replace regular substantial DLC. You will receive less of the content you love, because Eververse exists, so if you don't support #RemoveEververse because you don't see how it's having a significant effect on gameplay, there you go, probably the most significant effect you could ask for, you will receive less Destiny 2 over it's lifecycle because Eververse exists.
I'm bailing myself they are just gonna keep doing this, and even if they say they'll fix it how can you trust they aren't doing shaddy nerfs behind the scene or artificially extending the grind and eventually leading to a full pay to win. Why not they will milk it out as fast as they can as it tanks. Game stop still offer decent trade in, gonna get as much of my money back as I can.
