It’s still a new game as well. You can’t judge the amount of content a 3 year old game vs a few month old game.
That’s like saying Dark Souls 3 had more content at base compared to full DLC and base game of Dark Souls 2.
Don’t act like Destiny and Bungie are the only things that have made a sequel.
Dark Souls 3 had substantially less content than Dark Souls 2 at release actually, now that you mention it. And that is the Souls game that died the quickest for most players. It's like D2 in that it has no way to make unique builds and there was never much weapon variety.
But it's the type of game and yes you can. We're talking about a game that, almost 4 years on, doesn't really have anything new. It's the same characters, same powers, and same weapons. Nothing fresh or different. Dark souls 3 was in it core, different, different improved mechanics, weapons and so on. This is a game also that's not meant to be a one off, it's meant to have a 10 year life cycle, not to mention it's meant to be and online game, a soft mmo. When you factor that, and the look at what the first game left behind, yes there is very little content. A lot should of been carried over, such as the pvp game modes lost and introduce new modes, not just give us the new modes and nothing else, and a reason to keep going back, such as the bounties for nightfall, or the strike specific loot.
When people talk about 'content' on this game, they aren't talking about hours and hours of story mode, raids ect, they are talking about fundamental mechanics that made the game worth while playing once that was all done, the search for vex mythoclast or a better roll on imago loop, or the pvp content which allowed you to jump in and have fun. It's all stripped back, and the game mechanics are now clearly aimed at tempting you to buy eververse. Look at the dawning! I've opened 6 engrams and only had 1 piece of armour which, I can only do for one character....... Unless I want to spend money. That's the issue, and that's why people are "bitching"
