Yeah, but for these dlcs to cost so much for so little has been depressing. And wtf was the dawning? It was 3 boxes per ACCOUNT!? Wtf!! I'll log in on Tuesdays like everyone else. But until the new dlc in February, the direction their taking is fire a brimstone unfortunately
I won't lie, I feel I took a gamble on buying the £90 Destiny 2 package on PSN and it didn't pay off for me.
I ignored what Bungie had said about this game being aimed more towards casuals and that the grind had been significantly lessened for this game and dived in up to my nuts. By the end of week 2, I had 2/3 of my toons at 305 power and I'd hit a wall because there was nothing much for me that I wanted to do because I felt burned out from severe repetition (thank you Bungie for at least keeping the option to skip cut scenes lol).
I see the dawning pretty simply to be honest: A free event that has only 1 way to fund the return of any of the other free events. Thing is that people decided that they had to have everything and started calling out a pay wall because they couldn't get all of the free stuff they felt entitled to because of paid content falling short.
That being said, I think our first dlc was a considerably better offering than we were given with The Dark Below, if you look at actual content. Now I know people will point to CoO strike being story missions and stuff, but who remembers how much of the Omnigul strike was actually original? Was it enough? I'd argue not, but I'd also say that there are positives to take away when held up to its predecessor ☺
Yeah, I guess. I took a gamble too, and bought the game twice. I'm not worried about the dawning cause I had 11k bright dust I grinded for before the dlc. But in terms of longevity, there is none. I'm literally watching movies now because I don't want to go near Destiny until they fix everything and apologize formally to their player base. Lumi the streamers says the same thing, which is a shame. Maybe by the next Dlc they've fixed it, but I'll wait in agony as more and more F U's to the players come out of the woodshop unfortunately.

I think make or break will be in April for me. I lose nothing by following the progress in the mean time and I'm lucky enough that my clan plays across a few games, I can always jump on to another game if I need a higher level of entertainment than a solo game can offer.
Joking aside, we need the streamers above all others to speak their full opinions on the game because they're the guys drumming up what should be extra publicity for the game and I feel have a stronger voice for Bungie to hear than the average John Doe. It's just a shame that their own frustrations became so much that some of them damaged their relationship with Bungie.
Maybe I'm just becoming delusional now I'm in my mid 30s, but I still have hope left and some of my patience still intact hahaha
