Just because "social" is in the word doesn't mean it's socialism. Our military is a social program. Social Security is a social program. Medicare is a social program.

It's a socialist policy and you don't need to have a socialist government to have the policies around. But having the policies around lays the ground work for a socialist government to come into play and well if you look at Brazil, it didn't work well

See, the difference is that the US isn't an oil country. That is where the issue crops up. Countries whose fortunes are made on oil are often heavily corrupt. Venezuela, Nigeria (capitalist), Middle East (theocratic), etc.
