Are Bungie breaking the law?

So paid carries Bungie, please let us know what action you are taking to prevent tax evasion by UK players using your forums and your products to make financial gain through paid for carries?
Remember, in the UK ignorance is no defense.
What about the potential of benefit fraud? People claiming unemployment benefit but making money using Bungie's property and advertising their services on Bungie's forum?
EDIT: Be aware I am asking a question not stating a fact, hence the use of a ?. There are already a lot of Bungie Brown Nosers getting their panties in a twist over this and doing the usual failing to read everything and being deliberately obtuse.

So you pay a friend to either play for you, or play with you but give you all the advantages (sells you property at a reduces price). Do you try and hold Hasbro, the maker of said board game, accountable of tax evasion?

4 回复Soliciting is against the rules on the forum. Even if it wasn't, allowing someone to solicit on your forum doesn't make you liable for their taxes.

It is the streamers, not bungie who are avoiding tax (assuming that they are). It is unlikely they even make enough annually to tip them into the tax threshold. If, for example, a seller on Amazon marketplace doesn't pay tax on their profits it's not Amazon who is responsible. These people would be regarded as self employed and as such it is their responsibility to set their tax affairs in order. Bungie provide the platform, they don't collect and distribute these players revenue.

I'd be interested to see some UK payed to play(ers) reactions if the inland revenue came knocking, we aren't talking £5 a week here, we're talking £30 each for upwards of 60 carries every weekend, do the math and it's a very nice income. Nice post OP and way to go stamping on the hornets nest that is the Bungie Destiny community lol.👍

These people could be using the forum to advertise their service which they could be using to make money and not declare it for tax [spoiler]I'm not supporting OP. I take offence at your accusation. Why are you saying it is the UK? I have know the people over the pond who have offered this service also. Right or wrong it is up to Bungie to correct this. It is not your place to cast accusation at people. At the end of the day the losers are the people who actually pay for this service.

Bungie does not receive any monetary gains from trials carries and the transfer of money occurs on a third party site. In the us they would not be held responsible for any unpaid taxes on monetary gains made by any other party. The sites that offer the paid carry services are more than likely paying taxes on the money they make but the individuals that do it independently are probably not. In most cases, they are probably operating completely legal as well being that the amount of money they gain would not be enough to be considered an "income". That's why I could sell you a couch from my home and not worry about going to jail for tax evasion.

2 回复But it's not on there watch, just there product. If I go by ahit from Walmart and resell it to a bunch of idiots for a higher price and don't pay taxes, no one is going to go after walmart. And if anything, it would be on the streaming company's hands if anything, if they're streaming. Like twitch or youtube And they usually get paid in donations, not selling a direct product. There is a sites that do it, and technically yes it's against ToS. But it's that person's fault for violating the ToS. That's why it's there, that's why when you sign up and digitally sign something. Protects the company. Tl:dr Get over your salty self.
