ive seen a bunch of shit about gmo's, farm animals, and vegans because of this one relative, and i swear these vegans are just liberals brainwashing the people. Nothing they say has any value, their protesting has no basis in reality, they think the animals we farm deserve human rights. They went so far as to LITERALLY compare omnivorous people to hitler, wife beaters, murderers, and rapists. Vegans are so F-ing stupid it hurts, and to top it off they think that if the entire world went vegan we would make the world better, despite the massive land development required to create so much vegetation.
Im a Vegan, and that last point I have to call you on. We already develop an ass ton of land to grow animal feed. Thats an innefecient use of our resources. Its also extremely water intensive to produce the amount of feed necessary to bring an animal to slaughter, versus producing plants to provide the same amount of calories.
Im all for GMOs, and the anitbiotic issue as far as Im concerned is more towards the emergence of antiobiotic resistant bacteria.
EDIT: I also don't think the entire world should go vegan personally. There are places in the world were that really doesn't make sense. There are places were just because the nature of the enviroment it makes more sense to hunt and fish sustainably then to ship produce from halfway around the world so you can eat kale in the middle of winter.
if youd rather live off of plants thats your call. the issue isnt really veganism, its just stupidity. the group im targeting bitches that animals arent treated fairly; animals that we raise solely for food, whether its dairy cows or egg laying chickens. If any of these people had actually been to a real farm, theyd see that the animals are getting all the food, space, and care they NEED until the slaughterhouse, where they take pictures saying they "live" in these conditions. its pure ignorance that makes me mad, not vegans.
that last point i made isnt exactly true, as i understand how the food chain works, and how energy gets lost as it gets processed, but theres a catch to it as well. we can grow lots more corn than kale in a specific area of land, and that corn can feed an animal much better than it feeds us, while generating more proteins and other organic compounds not equally created by plants. land development isnt so black and white that 1 acre feeds x amount of anything equally.
