Yeah, from Japan back to Australia.

How was it there? In a year or two I plan on going there for a bit as vacation with a few friends, any thing you'd recommend to check out?

Vacation is fine, just don't live here unless you have an iron will and an incredible tolerance for things that don't make sense. If you can, go to Kyoto. It's my favourite prefecture in Japan, nice and peaceful and it's home to the Kinkakuji, which is this awesome gold temple in the middle of a lake.
