If you PVP then you know for a fact that FTL is not working. It takes forever to reach a planet/moon. Often times - you end up at the same exact place that your previous match was at. Just saying.
Also, speed of light/FTL is a construct of this universe. By definition the speed of light (or any constant) is slowing down because of the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Once we are outside of this universe then speed of light is non-existent. I like to think or imagine music without any beats. It's kinda hard to think that it's even possible.

The laws of physics don't necessarily prevent faster than light travel. Our current understanding does. As an object moves faster it's mass increases, approaching the speed of light would theoretically give it infinite mass. The speed of light through a vacuum is constant, but if that space expands it stretches the light, not slow it down.
