Grand Theft Auto Online
So I am currently trying to convince my parents to allow me to buy GTA 5, so I can play Online. That is all I want out of the game, so I can play with my friends, explore the open world, and have fun. Sounds pretty dumb, but that's my play style.
After a conversation with a GameStop employee who has not played the game (and pretended she has) gave false information to my parents regarding being able to skip cutscenes and go straight to Online without playing the story mission.
What also is not being understood is that, due to it being an open world game, I have the freedom to avoid the sexual content that is scattered around.
I am planning on showing the replies here to my parents, because 99% of media and news articles are biased against GTA 5. So please, comment explaining that you can avoid sexual content in the game, and you don't have to do the story.

Just to clarify, I'm just under 2 years away from legally (parental laws?) from playing the game, but I don't want to wait any longer.

The farthest you get to doing the story if you want to avoid it is like the first few seconds of the first mission. That's it. As for sexual content, that's easy as hell to avoid. There's one strip club in the whole city. ONE. There's also hookers, but most of the time you're gonna forget about them because you'll be preoccupied with your friends or other players.

I own gta 5 and I personally enjoy the game. But what good is it to prevent your child from playing it because there's sexual content? I guarantee he's seen his fare share on the Internet, so why would he buy the game just for sexual content? Honestly it's one OPTION you can do in the game. It's not forced, it's just something he can do. I'd let him buy it, but you should check on him often to make sure he's not doing inappropriate content. But by not letting him get the game, your not protecting him from sexual content, you're just taking away in option. Like I said it's just as easy to look up porn online as it is to go to an optional strip club of grand theft auto. Let him get it, it's not nearly as bad as you think.

GTA 5 is a game that included many lessons on what NOT to do in life including: mass murder, have a excessive amounts sex, drugs and bank robbing. Because in the end your just making things worse. So in the end, not letting your son, play this game is a big mistake. Video games are a part of culture these days and is a big influence. SO LET YOUR SON PLAY THE GAME, in the end in will make him a better person.

Then after you watch the beginning scene you should be good. Don't skip it otherwise it will make you re-do the prologue over again if it doens't find a save file after it.
