Oh? I was under the impression that it was the idea that life is meaningless and nothing matters. What I'm saying is, wouldn't a shred of thought, sympathy, or moral integrity dictate otherwise? The idea's core is true. There is no objective meaning of life. But we create our own meaning, no? Though that personal meaning might be foggy or complex, I think it can be hinted at by the actions and stances we take. I might be ignorant on the matter, and I apologize if I am. But I'm curious and intrigued. It just doesn't add up to me.

由Princess Anomaly编辑: 4/12/2016 11:36:43 AMIt’s disappointing to me that nihilism is stigmatized as being depressing and pessimistic. Yes, nihilism basically means you accept that in the grand scale of the Universe, human existence is random chance, and that as individuals and even as a collective species, our lives have no inherent purpose, meaning, or value. On the surface level, this seems pessimistic. But if you think about it, accepting the fact that your life has no inherent purpose allows you to create your own purpose. So really nihilism just means you’re in control of your own destiny. You find your own meaning rather than it being handed to you. There's no supreme being deciding my future for me. My life has no inherent purpose so I decide for myself what my purpose is. I think that's pretty damned optimistic.
