If only things would be that easy. Destiny is a done deal, everything that was released was cut content and the trend continues. I bet the majority of Bungie is busy working at Destiny 2, hence the trivial events that took months to put in place.

It is a complete joke if you think about it but there is nothing you can do. We have been sold an idea and we have bought an idea this is why everyone rushes to buy any DLC because they hope that one day Destiny will deliver at least a portion of what we where initially advertised?
