Down, right, left and up do not trigger the asigned emote in crucible for me but they work in the tower. I do not know if they work in pve because, I dont play much anymore. I only recently discovered pvp gameplay for the first time

When you're trying to do this using the D-pad, does your character do any actions? It sounds like it is an issue with your controller Dpad not working correctly. Have you checked for an update to your controller software recently? (I know this is possible for Xbox one, not sure about 360)
