Social Poll: What's More Important, Personality or Skill?
In the world of social activities, there are usually two factors to look into: personality and skill.
[b]Personality[/b]: Someone with a positive personality is usually a calm, friendly and helpful individual. They are easy to get along with and they're usually very popular among other people. In sports or online gaming, this type of individual is picked most due to his humility and kind nature although he may not be the most skilled player. There are exceptions though as I'll elaborate upon below.
[b]Skill[/b]: Someone who is highly skilled is usually the person with the answers. He's the teacher, he's the carrier, he's the pinnacle of victory in competitive situations. However, highly skilled individuals often tend to lack humility and come off as elitist, arrogant, caustic and sometimes crass. Due to this, they aren't picked as much even though selecting them can generate a high chance of victory but at the expense of the overall well being of the group.
So what do you think is more important? Is it better to be a nice guy or a good player?

Personality. For example for anyone here that had played Battlefront. Having your whole team do emotes, mostly the droid one, on top of the AT-AT while riding it through Endor was infinitely better than trying to be mlg at the game

Personality is better IMO, I'd rather have a teammate who is willing to work hard and keep a positive mindset. They tend learn faster and gain skill. A skillful person tends to be very complacent and like you said arrogant. They tend to make excuses whenever something doesn't go their way. But I'd prefer someone who has a little bit of both. Those are the people that breed greatness.

I would prefer both if there is an option, but generally I prefer to play with someone that I get along well with. If you can't be on good terms with somebody there is less a change that you can synchronise and work well together. If someone can avoid getting angry at the game no matter what, then I know I will have a good time playing with them.

I would say that determination to improve and perform to the best of your abilities would outweigh pure skill. You can have all the skill in the world and still slack off. Although you can excell at your job if you have skill and apply yourself.

Depends. Video games means personality. Real sports? Personality is important, but I'll take a good player over someone who means well but can't play. I get a pass because I'm nice enough but I'm willing to play goalie. No one likes to play goalie except for the crazy 5%.

2 回复I love an easy going teammate, then again I usually can only stand so much of someone sucking. If you can get both at the same time, that's the real fun[spoiler]and the reason I probably have around 5 days played time with you[/spoiler]
