Titans are meant to be the tank I'll give you that much.. But that doesn't mean they should get a high dps super. You stating that the hunter and warlock fell out of their type should run a double standard on the Titan.. Keep the defense then.. Lower the hammer throws to 3.. Hunters as the dps class get 3 shots with no shield cause their dos
Hunters are not ment as the DPS class... welln that's subclass dependent technically, but an entire different argument. There are three archetypes: Agility based (Hunter), Recover based (Warlock) and Armor based (titan).
Warlocks and hunters became much tank i than a titan, hence the nerf on them. DPS is soley the subclass, so yes... a titan can be a DPS Tank. It would fit under the solar subclass, just as the other supers have in the past (for the most part).
Also no disrespect to anyone who runs it, it's effective. But as a player who's game time mainly consist of pvp (well over pvp time played) it completely breaks the competitiveness of certain game types.. Like the video stated.. Whoever gets a sunbreaker on their team in certain game modes dominates.. You know things are off when you load into a pvp match and you think "I wonder if they have any sunbreakers" just like the same thought would run through your head for the thorn.. Now I do not hate on Titans, yes I play mine the least. But I would gladly choose a Titan to be my teammate in any game type pvp or pve before picking any class.. This means I have respect for the class not the people who play it obviously cause every Titan that I ever discuss this with jumps into the "whiny hunter main" nonsense.
But I do appreciate your style of discussion on this topic
Yeah but realize putting a dps and tank together creates too much unbalance.. That's why the simple suggestion of lowering the defense to where the Titan barely dies from a sniper headshot or GG super or shotgun+Melee would solve the whole issue. Even tho the video attached above shows that you can get around 7 hammers with a high amount of defense and recovery per kill is considered OP. The small reduction in defense won't break the class but it won't become a giant crucible crutch. Not saying all sunbreaker a use it as a crutch but you can't deny it is hands down king of all supers that requires either you run into a poor player or you simply get all the right shots off without making any mistakes.. Other supers don't offer that kind of power.
I won't deny blade dancers had that but required close range combat and got nerfed. And I don't disagree with that nerf but out of all the classes/subclasses in destiny the Titan is now the least diverse in pvp (not counting pve) due to the fact that it is now being used as a crutch.. Similar to the thorn before 2.0
