Last gen doesn't hold GTA5 and PayDay 2 back for a reason. Their new versions don't run on the same servers as the last gen ones, and (if my assumption is correct) most data is stored on your hard drive. Destiny however runs everything except for player instances, last and current gen on, on the same servers, and stores very little on your hard drive. So it's pretty much impossible to separate 'last' and 'current' generations. their dependence on each other in the code makes it extremely difficult. (This is my theory anyway based on my knowledge of how servers work)
Plus, Bungie isn't choosing to shut down servers in 2016. Sony and Microsoft are choosing to end shut down the servers because they're running ten year old consoles. If Microsoft shuts down their X360 servers and Song shuts down their PS3 servers, it makes no sense for Bungie to continue to support Destiny servers for old gen since you wouldn't be able to connect to Xbox live or PSN anyway.
In other words, it's time for an upgrade. You're playing on ten year old hardware, and it's just the name of the game to have to upgrade every time a new generation comes out.
What you're kidding me! What do you mean they stopped supporting my super Nintendo?!?! That's a slap in the face I'm suing. You can find me crying in my crib considering I'm acting like a toddler
K... Stahp... Camera view is a shit example... Not hard to do and not tasking what so ever as it is simply the placement of your view...
Again... Stahp...k... Jus.... Stahp...
Every single player is paying 130$ for 2 years of experience. Everyone will have to pay another 20$ or so when the expansion after Taken King is launched. The only difference between you and someone who owns a current generation console is the console they bought the original Destiny on.

This is probably why that are shutting it down, because Microsoft is shutting down x360 servers as well.
GTA:V was meant to be on last-gen consoles. The next-gen release was pretty much a port with updated graphics.
Same with Payday 2.
However, Destiny was meant to be a next-gen only game.
The only reason it's on last-gen is so Activison can make more money.
Making a game on 4 consoles will make you more money then on 2.
dude, this is like asking why halo 1 isn't still up. nobody is making games for the xbox or ps2. and subsequently the same will eventually happen to the 360 and the ps3. it's just hardware, man.
The PS3 was released in November 2006. It's nearing the end of its cycle.
This is a natural part of progressing from one console generation to the other, not a "slap to the face".
