Are shotguns ruining PvP?
I really think this is the only shooting game that consists of only 6v6 head to head shotgun warefare. Its dumb. Usually a game with guns you use primaries first hense the name.. I just really think Bungie is sucking the big one for making shotguns so OP. Crucible needs the biggest look at in terms of an update after the release of the next [i]expansion is complete.
Edit: Just a thought, what if shotguns had their own ammo crates only in crucible? They could be Red ammo crates that spawn at 85% of the speed Special ammo crates spawn, and killing players would drop a small amount of shotgun ammo (red) instead of special ammo if you have a shotgun equipped. Further more that would decrease that insanely accessability to shotgun ammo, which is literally impossible to run out of if your good.[/i]

I wouldn't mind shotguns at all if almost all the maps weren't so damn small. It's why I love Bastion and First Light so much. Those maps are too big for shotguns to become a problem. [spoiler]It's also why I tend to avoid PvP until a Combined Arms weekend comes up.[/spoiler]

3 回复I say give shotguns the same fire rate as a medium hand cannon. And make them a 3-4 hit kill weapon.

Players just overuse special ammo and treat it as it was their [b]Primary.[/b] In Destiny, on these tiny maps, having unlimited ammo for your shotgun is just a joke. This is the worst PvP Design I have ever seen. For example, in BF this is not a big problem because you have big maps and most guns kill you in 1 second.

2 回复The only "problem" is that most of the maps are small and conducive to shotgun use. I use a shotgun and usually Vex. When I see people charging me, I back pedal and use Vex and destroy them. A shotgun should kill someone in one shot at close range. Don't let them get to close range. Where Bungie could help would be to make more maps that benefit the use of longer range weapons. Truthfully, it's a no win situation because people are going to cry no matter what. If there were more big maps, people would cry about Snipers and Scout rifles needing to be nerfed.

Shotguns are just not fun to play against. There are only two strategies I've ever seen people use with shotguns: 1. Blinking Warlock or Hunter 2. Shoulder Charging Titan Not to mention 90% of shotgun users are all running the same 3 weapons; Invective, Felwinter's Lie and Found Verdict.

Well, I have to admit, it might be a problem if I can go play rumble and on maps like the anomaly, I will see nothing but shotgun deaths. Maybe it would be beneficial to decrease the amount of special ammo gained per pick up in pvp (not for snipers though).

I don't think they're ruining PVP, but I'll agree with you saying they're overused. But using a shotgun is so much funner. For me, I'm so pumped during crucible that I can't sit back and play it safe, I run around like a chicken with my head cut off. Lol

1 回复Oh come on. If I get close enough to hug you, don't you think I'm gonna use a shotgun? At least try to be smart and melee me so one of your teammates can finish me off... Unless it's in Rumble.

3 回复You lot are fu*king cry babies... Get good.... And Don't run head first into people with shotguns... Simple! No shotgun is a guaranteed one hit kill, and all shotguns are rolled with different perks which makes them stronger/weaker... In my opinion, they should be one hit kills from close range no matter what perks they're rolled with... They should blow a hole in anything 15ft away! End Off!

Shotguns as a whole don't bother me but sniping shotguns do to a point. I haven't got felwinters lie but I assume it takes some skill to use it well so I can't complain too much though, if I am putting myself in the position where the people running shotguns can use them most effectively its my own fault for being stupid and playing to them rather than forcing them to engage me.

1 回复The only real problem is special Ammo is everywhere at all times.. In a recent game I spawned literately next to a box of special ammo, ran for 4 seconds and there was another. Each box even gives you two magazines worth of ammo. Not to mention they are on a 10 second timer themselves. Basically in the time it takes you to pick up the ammo, die, and respawn the boxes have already regenerated. I've said it dozens of times now, but they either need to remove starting special ammo or increase the time it takes for the boxes to refill. Either way it doesn't matter though, they look at the most used weapons and why and pretty much nerf them based on that and that is why shotguns have gotten two fall off damage nerfs since release.
