Wow, I'm amazed at the hate for assist points. I think zero assist points brings down teamwork, which is actually a thing in Inferno.
Why don't you all want points for assists?
Points for kills only! Doesn't bring down teamwork.. i usually try to kill everything i see.. who ever doesnt is plain stupid or blind. . And usually blind lol i see my death cam .. i been yelled at for " stealing kills" some people are very anal

My opinion: inferno is what the community wanted: the chance to be solo operatives.
I second this. Not like it matters, most players lone wolf it anyways. Never go for the objective, never help in fire fights, always running off doing their own thing, or running into walls of bullets. Even the good players that just stack bodies everywhere they walk are of no use to the team. What good is getting 50+ kills if you aren't supporting your team and the enemy also gets a collective 50 kills on your 5 teammates, negating all they have done? Nobody realizes how fast your team score can skyrocket if all you do is just team shoot every enemy you see and rack up assist points.
Really speaking, in the other point system, the ideal circumstance is for there to be an assist on every kill.
I suppose it makes sense to ignore assists that are "accidental."
