It starts as a social question/issue then becomes a philosophical discussion. For example, someone could comment on the children, then we could get into a discussion about at what time does ones childhood end? I imagine that children in the bronx lose their childhood fairly quickly as they are exposed to evil and death all around them. Or that they lose it when they can see reality?

I guess that is kind of philosophy, but I'm not sure what part it would come under. Personhood perhaps? Tell me death, do you study philosophy?

I agree. What drove you to major in it?

I just love it so much. The search for truth. The systems of belief. Striving for objectivity of opinion. All those things and more. Plus the separate subjects: metaphysics, epistemology, problem of mind, ethics etc. all deeply interest me. I go to university in England and as such you only have to study one subject (not doing all the others as well like you do in the USA). As such I am studying a joint degree in Theology and Philosophy, but I will almost defiantly major in Philosophy in the second year. But yeah, philosophy is my love and passion, I hope to get a MA and then a PHD in it if I am so lucky. Then hopefully start giving lectures and becoming an academic. That would be my dream job. What about you, what makes you love philosophy?

We are so alike it's a bit crazy. I just love to think and contemplate theories and thought. I'm just a thinker. My love for it started as a child when I heard about these Greek philosophers so I read a lot of books about them. Then I expanded onto other's work. I craved it more and more. I believe Philosophy expands your mind.
