I still do not understand why I can make friends with stoners easier than I do with other straight-edge people. Can anyone else relate?

Based on personal experience straight edge seem to be more judgmental where as stoners tend to be more open minded or easy going. Not all of them for either group but that's what I've noticed and I've been judged harshly by straight edge because I'm a stoner but once again not all.

3 回复Because what's more important than the fact that you don't use drugs but they do, is the fact that you and they both define yourselves around your drug use related choices. You're both losers, just on opposite sides of the coin.

I had a bunch of friends who turned into stoners and I can't stand them anymore. Not solely because they do drugs, but they changed so much because of it. It depends on the person. You can be a nuisance whether you use drugs or not.

2 回复I usually hate those stoners with that general I don't give a -blam!- essence to them. If you don't brag about smoking weed, you're cool.

6 回复To be fair, a lot of "straight-edge" people that i've met were pretty snotty about it. Then again, that number is relatively small to begin with. Either way I wouldn't want to make friends with people with ego issues either, they can be difficult to deal with in high doses. Stoners, on the other hand, tend to be very laid back and easy to get along with. Again, this is based on my experience, I know that this doesn't apply to all of them.

3 回复Because stoners are pretty easy to get along with. Even when they're using the drug. Straight edge people feel entitled because the don't do drugs and they tend to look down on people who do.

1 回复All my friends or at least most of them drink and partake in drugs, I'm not really down to drink but I'm down to try weed, meh it is what it is

1 回复I'm in that same boat, my friend. I can get along a lot easier with stoners than I can with the people from day to day society, It's a curse.
